Wireless Technologies

The number of wireless LAN
implementations in the U.S. has doubled over the past 12 months.
Wireless LANs have gained wide popularity throughout the country within
many different business areas. Some
of those would be health-care, retail, manufacturing and warehousing.
Today
wireless LANs are becoming more widely recognized as a general-purpose
connectivity alternative for a broad range of business customers.
A Wireless LAN (WLAN)
can be viewed as complementary to an existing cabled infrastructure or as an
alternative in new premises or a warehouse environment.
Wireless
LANs (WLANs) are networks, usually within buildings or on a campus, that
communicate through electromagnetic airwaves (radio and infrared). There are no
physical connections between networked components in a WLAN.
